Letters received concerning faculty positions, equipment, and rooms, 1875-1878.

On 30 April 1875 Hiram Collier resigned as professor of chemistry and physics; on 28 August 1876 Jacob Ennis requested a position as professor of mineralogy, geology, and mining engineering; on 23 December 1876 J. T. Lovewell requested money to buy equipment for the physical laboratory; on 23 March 1878 C. Alfred Smith, professor of chemistry and physics, requested a decision on repairing lab apparatus; on 4 December 1878 T. V. Garwood of Cassopolis, Michigan sought employment as a music teacher; and, in an undated letter, J. W. Heston, president of the Penn State YMCA requested rooms to be converted to a meeting hall.
